Did you know that you can transfer awards earned via Diners Club credit cards to Southwest points?
Diners Club credit cards, which were the very first charge card, earn Club Rewards points. For every dollar you spend on the card, you earn 1 point. For those who hold Diners Club Elite cards, you can also earn 3 points per dollar spent at groceries, drug stores and gas when you pay at the pump.
You can then transfer your Club Rewards to Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards points. For every 1500 Club Rewards transferred, you can earn 1200 Southwest Rapid Rewards points.
You can also transfer Club Rewards to Delta SkyMiles and British Airways Avios.
Diners Club currently offers two consumer cards:
- Diners Club Premier – $95 annual fee
- Diners Club Elite – $300 annual fee
This is a good option if you need additional Southwest points to free flights. Transferred Diners Club rewards, however, DO NOT qualify for the Southwest Companion Pass.
Their website is not currently taking applications for the consumer cards, but if you are interested you can call them at 1 (800) 234-6377.
