Should you get your Southwest Companion Pass now or wait until January so it’s good for almost 2 full years? Contrary to popular belief, in most cases, you should go ahead and get it NOW. In this week’s Travel Tuesday Q&A, Lyn explains her strategy and why she teaches the opposite of what you’ll hear everywhere else, ie “wait til January.”

Please note, Southwest has updated the number of points required to earn the Southwest Companion Pass from 125,000 to 135,000 beginning January 1, 2023, though that does not affect the simple way we teach earning and always maintaining the pass.
