A lot of you have asked me this question over the last couple months: Will Southwest extend the expiration date on its drink coupons?
Now, we have an answer in an announcement the airline posted on June 3: Yes!
I’ve been advising you that even if they didn’t extend the expiration date, Southwest will often take expired coupons if you ask, and certainly in light of all that’s happened, they would honor that.
But, they’ve made it official.
If you have a drink coupon that expires in 2020, they will extend that expiration until Dec. 31, 2020. CORRECTION: I previously put Dec. 31, 2021 in error. That is incorrect. My apologies!
You don’t need to do anything aside from present your drink coupon to your Southwest flight attendant.
So you’ve got plenty of time to drink up in the sky!
