Have you ever left something behind on an airplane? Baby blanket, iPhone, book… What to do?
Well, my son recently “misplaced” his watch after our trip to Colorado, leaving us unsure where he actually left it. After unsuccessfully checking with our last hotel, I decided it may have fallen out of his bag on our Southwest flight.
So, what do you do if you left something on a Southwest plane? Here’s the protocol:
- If you realize it quickly, notify someone at the gate or any Southwest customer service agent, so they can check the plane before it takes off again.
- If you don’t realize it until you’re home, or days later like us, you need to contact Southwest Lost & Found.
- Visit the above web page and enter in as much information as you have about the item on the questionnaire. Be prepared with the date of the flight and flight #, as well as descriptive information about the item, including a serial # if you have it.
- If you include your email, they will send you regular emails updating the status of the search for your lost item.
Southwest will search for the item for 30 days only. If they DO find your items, you are responsible for shipping charges to get it sent back to you.
So far, no luck on the lost watch for us. Have you ever lost something on an airplane and gotten it back?
