If you purchase Southwest Airlines Business Select or Anytime fares and fly for business, check out SWABIZ, Southwest’s free corporate booking tool.
What is SWABIZ?
SWABIZ.com lets companies manage and track bookings for employees at no cost. While you will need to enroll as a company to take advantage of this discount, if you have a small business, you can certainly sign up.
During the enrollment process, it asks for a Tax ID number, which can be a social security number for a sole proprieter or your federal ID number if you are a corporation. Then you will need to set up someone to serve as your travel manager. It will then send you a company ID number and you can log in and make reservations.
Why Book Anytime or Business Select Fares?
Unlike other airlines, Southwest does not have a dedicated business or first class. When you book a Southwest Business Select ticket on Southwest, you earn 12 points per dollar spent on fares versus 6 points for Wanna Get Away fares, get expedited check in, guaranteed A1-15 boarding position and a free alcoholic drink on board (learn other ways to get Southwest drink coupons).
When booking an Anytime fare, you earn 10 points per dollar spent on fares, fares are fully refundable and you get same-day standby perks.
Generally I don’t recommend booking these two fares, because the increase in cost does not usually justify the perks, BUT if your company will reimburse you or you can write it off, then earning more points is DEFINITELY helpful. These points DO qualify for the Southwest Companion Pass, which lets one person fly free with you for up to two years.
