In addition to the great news about extending the Southwest Companion Pass, the airline also announced an extension of its elite statuses: A-List and A-List Preferred.
Southwest Extend Elite A-List Status Through 2021
Those currently holding A-List or A-List Preferred status through 2020 will have that status extended an extra year until December 31, 2021.
This DOES NOT include those who got promotional A-List status that was originally only set to last until May 31 or June 30, though they are extending the time you have to earn FULL status by flying the required number of flights until October 30, 2020.
Additionally, all Southwest Rapid Rewards members will get a “boost” of 15,000 tier-qualifying points and 10 flight credits toward A-List and A-List Preferred status to work towards earning that status.

When Will This Happen and Who Is Eligible?
In the announcement, Southwest said, “These adjustments will happen automatically and will be reflected in your Southwest Rapid Rewards My Account page over the coming weeks.”
Lastly, you are eligible for this addition if you opened a Rapid Rewards account on or before April 1, 2020. You don’t need to take any further action to receive these benefits.
