On April 4, Southwest will reduce the bonus offers on ALL of its credit cards, both personal and business. That means, you have LESS THAN 30 days to apply for these cards. Get it done now before you forget!

Why should you apply for them now? Because by signing up for just TWO cards, one personal and one business, you’ll have enough points to earn the Southwest Companion Pass (required 110,000 points), so one person can fly FREE with you through the end of 2019!

You can alternately apply for TWO personal cards, but you’ll need another 10,000 points to get your Companion Pass.

It’s better to earn the Companion Pass early in the year, because it’s always good through the end of the following year and that means you’ll have MORE time to use it — almost TWO full years!

My family flies free on Southwest all over the U.S. using Southwest points in combination with the Southwest Companion Pass.

Using the Cards for FREE Travel

Not only will two of these cards earn you the Southwest Companion Pass, you’ll also have a bank of 110,000+ Southwest points that you can use to book FREE flights. Remember, you will NOT need to use points to book flights for your Companion.

Together with Chase Sapphire Preferred, which has a 50,000-point offer after a $4,000 minimum spend, you could have 160,000+ points to spend on free flights, as Chase Ultimate Rewards transfer instantly at a 1:1 ratio to Southwest points.

Using this strategy, my family flew to six destinations within one year using 160,000 Southwest points and less than $100 per flight for annual fees, security fees and a few points we purchased early on.
