SnapTravel Makes Booking a Hotel a Lot Easier!

Note: This post is sponsored by SnapTravel, but all views and opinions are my own.

Do you travel for business frequently? I know many Go to Travel Gal readers travel not only for leisure but as entrepreneurs, sales people and in many other roles for their jobs, as well. That can be a great way to earn lots of frequent flier miles!

If you’re in charge of booking your own business travel accommodations or prefer to handle it yourself, I’ve found a really cool way that can save you time, money and earn you more rewards for future leisure stays. It’s called SnapTravel.

SnapTravel is a new service (Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors recently invested :)) that aims to change the way travel is booked by making it as easy as possible.

How? The service lets travelers check hotel rates and book hotels over text, Facebook messenger and other instant messaging services like Slack and even Alexa. No app required; it’s just like you’re texting a friend!

SnapTravel lets you check hotel rates and book hotels via text

SnapTravel also says it offers the highest percentage of money back in rewards (which they call credits) for your company’s spend on hotel stays compared to any other major hotel rewards programs, allowing you to use those credits for future personal stays … bonus!

And it also comes with other benefits like 30 to 50% lower rates than you’ll find on other comparison sites like Hotels.com and Expedia. They are able to offer these lower rates, because staff say they have spent the past few years building relationships with hotels that allow them to offer a special secret price over text.

How SnapTravel’s Business Rewards Program Works

When you use SnapTravel’s business travel program, you have the opportunity to earn between 15% and 35% of your spend BACK in the form of a travel credit.

SnapTravel credits are each worth $1 and can be redeemed on ANY future booking with no black-out dates.

Use them in full or in part whenever you like for ANY type of travel. You’ll receive your credits within 24 hours of check-out.

Want to earn hotel points? The company boasts that it is the best business travel program. Compared with other loyalty programs, SnapTravel offers the highest return on your spend in terms of reward points.

Hotels.com and Expedia.com also have rewards programs, but according to TravelCodex, Hotels.com grants travelers 10% to 14% back on their spend, while Expedia offers just less than 10% to just more than 1% back.

Credit TravelCodex

When it comes to hotel loyalty programs, Hilton, for example, according to TravelCodex, offers only a 4% to 8% return on your spend with rewards.

Plus, with SnapTravel, you can use your credits to book any hotel, any time, whereas with hotel loyalty programs, you’re limited to only hotels within that brand’s portfolio, and some dates may not be available. Reminds me a bit of Southwest compared to the other airlines :).

To earn credits on your stay, though, you will pay a higher rate to SnapTravel, which varies based on the hotel (you’ll see it listed as the Business Traveler Package when you open the hotel results they send you via text or Messenger and look at the rates), but usually you’ll get more than the monetary value in the SnapTravel credits than the difference you’re paying.

So if you’re expensing the charge for your business travel (ie it’s not coming out of your own pocket but your company’s), it allows you to earn a return on business travel for which you’re not even paying :).

Other Benefits of SnapTravel Business

In addition to the ease of booking via text or Messenger, SnapTravel also has some other great benefits.

1. Free Upgrades

SnapTravel reps will call your hotel to negotiate a FREE upgrade, which could include a better view, larger room or late check-out, if any are available. Yea!

2. Smoother Check-in

When they’re calling the property in advance, they also help eliminate any potential check-in errors to ensure your check-in goes as smoothly and quickly as possible.

3. 24/7 Priority Service

And if you have questions about your reservation, no need to sit on hold for hours. Simply text them anytime!

4. Ease of Expensing

SnapTravel also integrates with many expensing systems like Expensify, Certify and Nexonia.

They also have more perks coming soon, like free Uber rides and no-charge cancellation.

Choose your room type and click Reserve. Be sure to make a note if the rate is or is not refundable.

8. Enter your contact information and payment details and then select Complete Booking.

Note: When you book with SnapTravel, because you are getting discounted rates, you will not be able to earn hotel loyalty points, as is the case with any comparison site like Expedia, Hotels.com, etc. But, they WILL add your loyalty account number to your booking, so that the property is more likely to honor your status and you can receive any associated benefits.

Is SnapTravel Legit?

Absolutely! As I mentioned, Curry, as well as many other tech entrepreneurs have invested in this forward-thinking company. And it’s actually been around since 2016, helping more than 2 million people book hassle-free business travel and personal accommodations to date. I highly recommend you give it a try and see what you think!

  1. We used snap travel for the first time for our trip to Punta Cana last summer and the price was a few hundred dollars lower per person than any other site. Didn’t have any problems at all.

  2. I realize it’s a sponsored post, but I thought it was only fair to hear of real results in using Snap Travel after reading your blog – I tried to book a hotel, received a confirmation e-mail from them, but no confirm #. Hours later tried to reach them and talked to an offshore call center that advised me prices were dynamic and they couldn’t honor the rate. I asked for a cancellation confirmation which they couldn’t provide. In the mean time, prices have jumped at the hotel by over $300/night. Will rebook with someone else, but I suspect, we’ll still see a charge from them, despite not being able to get a room for me.

  3. Used this travel for 2 nights in Williamsburg, booked using my cell phone. Resort fees of $21 were added that were not disclosed until the email confirmation came through. I booked only an hour before check-in. I arrived and tried to have the resort fees removed, which the resort wouldn’t do, so I didn’t check in. I am currently disputing the charge with my credit card company.
