Southwest Companion Pass
Diane M. recently earned her Southwest Companion Pass! Congratulations!

I love to share when Go to Travel Gal readers successfully earn their Southwest Companion Pass!

Here is a big shout-out to Diane M. of Houston, Texas, who recently received her Companion Pass. Here’s how she earned the remaining 6000 Rapid Rewards points after signing up for two Southwest Rapid Rewards Chase Visa credit cards to get 104,000 points. Note: You must earn 110,000 Rapid Rewards points to reach Companion Pass status, which allows one person to fly free with you for up to two years.

  • Paying monthly expenses
  • Rapid Rewards Dining
  • Rapid Rewards Shopping Portal
  • Transferred 1000 points from Marriott Rewards to Southwest Rapid Rewards. Note: Points transferred from hotel loyalty programs NO LONGER count toward Companion Pass status.

Diane M. will now be able to take someone along for a free flight through the end of the year and use her 110,000 Rapid Rewards points to pay for her flights. That means FREE flights except for the $5.60 mandatory government fee each way per person. She says she already has two trips booked for 2016!
