My family is a longtime lover of Walt Disney World and we’ve been many times over the years. But just today I learned a way to save on tickets I’d never heard of!
Finding coupons or discounts for tickets to the Disney or Universal theme parks in Orlando is tough unless you live in Florida, so I was excited to find these extra discounts.
If you buy your tickets at VisitOrlando.com, you can score some additional savings. Right now they are offering your fifth day FREE at Walt Disney World if you buy four days and your third day FREE at Universal Orlando when you buy two days.
I recently interviewed a family for an upcoming US News & World Report article on whether or not you should try to do both set of theme parks in one trip. This particular family made their entire trip a Universal vacation, spending three days at the parks. They spent one day at Universal Orlando and one day at Islands of Adventure. The third day they used to go back and re-ride all of their favorite attractions. Great idea!
I also heard the suggestion, for those of us who are nuts about Harry Potter, to spend an entire day just in that section of the parks. There are so many details the creators have gone to great lengths to incorporate that a full day would allow you to really take the time to experience it all!
Staying five days at Disney also helps you go at a more relaxed pace. You don’t feel like you have to be there as soon as the sun rises every day to get it all in. Sleep in, head to the parks, go back to the pool and hang out at night, which is one of our favorite times to be in the parks. With Park Hopper tickets, you could take a safari at Animal Kingdom in the morning when the animals are active, ride the Rock n Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios in the afternoon and enjoy dinner at Italy in Epcot in the evening.
How would you spend an extra day at Universal Orlando or Walt Disney World?
