If you’re Disney obsessed, you’ve certainly heard about the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). A timeshare program for families and Disney enthusiasts alike, DVC claims to offer flexibility for booking and experiencing magical vacations in Orlando and beyond and Disney promotes it like crazy within its parks.
Read on to discover some of the benefits of Disney Vacation Club.
How It Works
Disney Vacation Club uses a points-based system. Members get an annual allottment of points, giving them the opportunity to use the points like currency to book their dream vacation.
Avid Disney fans have the additional advantage of enjoying annual savings and perks, including more time in the parks. Who can say no to that?

Disney Vacation Club Locations
When you think of Disney, you probably immediately think about Walt Disney World in Orlando or Disneyland in California. However, DVC resorts extend even further than these destinations.
There are, of course, many Disney Vacation Club resorts in Orlando, such as Disney’s Saratoga Springs located by Disney Springs (the former Downtown Disney) and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, which sits directly on the Walt Disney World Resort campus. These resorts give you prime access to the famed parks and attractions if that’s your goal for vacation.
As a DVC member, however, you can travel farther than the parks with stays at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort off the coast of South Carolina. While you generally will purchase a DVC timeshare at a “home” resort, the points-based system lets you exchange your Disney timeshare week for a vacation anywhere else in the DVC network of resorts.
DVC Timeshare Amenities
In addition to vacationing near the best Disney attractions, DVC resorts provide many on-site amenities both on the resort grounds and in the actual accommodations and can make for a more comfortable Disney stay.
Disney timeshare accommodations work well for groups large and small with one-, two-, three- and even four-bedroom suites available. These units offer queen size beds, large living areas, flat screen TVs, a full bathroom and even private balconies.
DVC resorts also have plenty of fun features on-site. Spend a day splashing in a themed swimming pool, unwinding in the hot tub, participating in fun kids club activities, enjoying character dining opportunities and much more.
Disney Vacation Club Rentals and Resales
While you may think owning a timeshare is outside of your family’s budget, it’s possible to find Disney Vacation Club timeshare resales on the secondary market, advertised by-owner, for a small fraction of the retail cost.
Many of the DVC resorts are completely sold out of timeshare properties yet you can still find these available for sale on the resale market. If you’re looking for a one-time vacation to a DVC resort, it’s also possible to rent Disney timeshares by-owner, which can save you tons of money!
SellMyTimeshareNow.com is an example of a site, which lists secondary market resales of Disney Vacation Club properties, as well as rentals advertised by-owner.
Additionally, if you want to buy Disney Vacation Club points, you can shop their resale inventory and search by resort, unit size or price tag.
You also have the option to rent DVC points on SellMyTimeshareNow.com. They often have last-minute deals with low nightly rates, and many feature a “book now” option that allows you to complete the entire transaction online with a 100% reservation guarantee.
Have you ever thought of joining a Disney Vacation Club? Any of you ever “rent” DVC timeshares for a stay at one of these resorts?
